Bantams are an indie rock outfit from Philadelphia composed of ringleader Chris Rathke, and his collaborators, James Hoag and Mike Vermeil. They distill the best and worst from an impossible list of influences, and repackage it as something that no one else is bold enough to try.

 

In 2019, Hoag and Rathke came together to release “Gettysburg Sorority” after two solo efforts by Rathke in 2016 (“Sincerely, The Bantams”) and 2017 (“Archbishop”).

Sparked by creative delirium in early-pandemic days, Hoag, Rathke and Vermeil came together over the span of four years to write, record, re-record, write some more, and finally, release Bantams’ third full-length album, Turn Heel.
